Federal Fingerprints -- CHECK

Today, Joe and I left at 5 am, way to early to leave the house, and drove to our State’s Capital (is that al or ol for Capital??). We arrived over an hour early! We drove around down town looking for a coffee shop place to kill time! Little did we know that there really isn’t anything downtown besides TALL buildings. We parked, fed the meter, and went into a hotel across from the street from the Federal Court House! According to the concierge at the hotel, there was a coffee shop two blocks down. Walked along this really nice neighborhood to find the coffee shop not open yet. We waited for about 10 minutes and went back. Had coffee and headed over to the Federal Court House. Went in – I mean directly into a tiny little entryway only big enough for Joe and I and were met with a metal detector and two security guards sitting behind bullet proof glass! WOW!! They asked what we were there for and we showed them our appointment information. Hmmmm – WE WERE IN THE WRONG BUILDING. We needed to go to the Federal Building – not the Federal Court House. Who knew?? LOL There were not any numbers on the building. Luckily we were about 20 minutes early and we were only two blocks from where we needed to be. Got there, went in and walked into the USCIS office at 7:55 am and were both fingerprinted and out the door and back to our car at 8:16 am. Then got in the van and drove our two hours home!! Good thing we were early huh??

At least it’s another thing to check off our list!!!
