The following is our timeline for this adoption! We started this journey on October 9th, 2007. You can see step by step from the bottom up.. date by date... So anyone that is thinking about adopting -- this is what we have been doing for the last 5 months! Seems like a lot, but the end result is so worth all the work!!!

April 6, 2009 -- Waiting for a Travel Date!!!!

April 6, 2009 -- Dossier to be Submitted to Gov't in Country
March 23, 2009 -- Dossier Arrived in Country
March 20, 2009 -- Dossier Fed Ex'd to Country
March 20, 2009 -- All Document Apostilled
March 12, 2009 -- Received I-171H (USCIS Approval)
March 5, 2009 -- Premier Designs Fundraiser
March 5, 2009 -- USCIS Federal Fingerprinting
February 25, 2009 -- Received Joe's Revised Employment Letter
February 21, 2009 -- Received Fingerprinting Appointment
February 12, 2009 -- Tastefully Simple Fundraiser
February 12, 2009 -- Got a good bunch of our documents notarized
February 10, 2009 -- Waiting for our USCIS Approval -- I171H
February 10, 2009 -- Working on finishing our Dossier paperwork.
February 3, 2009 -- Received word that new paperwork was required. Starting over!
January 28, 2009 -- DOSSIER COMPLETE -- Needs to be completely notarized and waiting for I171H (INS Approval) YAHOO!!!
January 28, 2009 -- POA Paperwork Completed
January 28, 2009 -- Letter of Obligation Completed
January 28, 2009 -- Petition to Adopt Completed
January 26, 2009 -- Certified Copy of our Home Deed Received
January 25, 2009 -- Applied for Benjamin Cornish Memorial Fund Grant
January 22, 2009 -- Marriages Licenses Done
January 22, 2009 -- Brigitte's Medicals Notarized and Completed
January 21, 2009 -- Joe's Medical Notarized and Completed
January 21, 2009 -- Home Information Complete
January 21, 2009 -- Passport Copies Complete
January 21, 2009 -- Beginning on Dossier Documentation
January 21, 2009 -- HOME STUDY COMPLETE and in our hands!!
January 2, 2009 -- Received Rough Draft of Home Study for Review
December 31, 2008 -- Mailed final forms to SW for Home Study
December 29, 2008 -- Received Joe & Brigitte's Medicals
December 22, 2008 -- Received Joe's Employment Verification
December 13, 2008 -- Last Visit for our Home Study
December 12, 2008 -- Medicals for Joe & Brigitte Completed -- Will receive completed Medical Forms Next Week!!
December 10, 2008 -- Insurance Verification Received
December 8, 2008 -- Received Brigitte's Employment Verification
December 1, 2008 -- Received State Clearances
November 18, 2008 -- I-600A Mailed to USCIS
November 17, 2008 -- Scheduled Medicals for Joe and Brigitte
November 8, 2008 -- Received Brigitte's Passport
November 7, 2008 -- Received Joe's Passport
November 1, 2008 -- First Visit of Our Home Study
October 23, 2008 -- Applied for Passports
October 23, 2008 -- Received Copies of Marriage License
October 23, 2008 -- Local Fingerprints Taken
October 20, 2008 -- Sent Reference Forms To Our 6 References For Home Study
October 19, 2008 -- Scheduled Home Study for November 1st at 10:00 am
October 19, 2008 -- Got Passport Pictures Taken -- $7.99 Each
October 18, 2008 -- Received Packet from About A Child--Finger Print Cards
October 17, 2008 -- Received Joe's Certified Birth Certificates
October 16, 2008 -- Received Brigitte's Certified Birth Certificates in the Mail
October 16, 2008 -- Decided to have About A Child Do Our Home Study
October 14, 2008 -- Sent off for Copies of Birth Certificates for Joe & Brigitte --$45.00 each
October 10, 2009 -- Certified Copy of House Deed Received -- $5.25
October 9, 2008--Officially Committed to Adopting Jacob
