In just a few hours from now…..

.. and we will be traveling back to the SDA to get our permission to see Jacob!!  We got there a few minutes late because the taxi was stuck in traffic.  We were wisked right in and sat down.  Serge -- Yulia's partner -- went in with us.  He talked very friendly with all the social workers there who happened to be women.  We sat down in a little office on a sofa.  Our social worker and Serge talked back and forth for a bit and then they opened the file and this is the first picture I saw ---

Our little boy just after he was put in the orphanage by his parents.  His mother was 22 and his father was 36 and they are still alive.  How could someone give up a little guy this precious??  I just don’t get it, however I am thankful they did because we wouldn’t be getting our son if they hadn’t!!!

Anyway, our appointment took all of 10 minutes and we were out the door again.  We go back at 5 pm today and get his official referral and permission to visit him at the orphanage.  We will be on a train tonight with Yulia and be meeting him tomorrow!  Very exciting.

Here are Joe and I outside the SDA!

Might be couple days to get our internet up and running when we are in region, however we will get back here asap to post pictures of our meeting with Jacob!!!  I bet you can hardly wait!  I know I can’t!!

Yes, like Alicia said, don't keep us in suspense. I am lucky hey, we're on similar time zones so I get to hear before most others :)
How old was he when he was separated from his birth parents? Have they seen him since?

Hi Brigitte and Joe! It was great meeting you on Wednesday. We didn't take a picture in front of the back door to the SDA, although I want to walk there again and snap a photo anyway. Hope you get internet running soon. We'll find out about travel plans later today probably. Take care and good luck! We'll be in touch.
