On Saturday, I did the Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics!!!
It was very cold -- Snowed the night before so when we first got there, I was bundled up!!

Jen (from our Designer Genes Group) did the Plunge with me!!!

And her son Tyler Plunged as well!!
I got some hot chocolate and took off the coat in preperation!

All three of us getting ready to get Freezin' For A Reason!!

Off went the pants -- One step closer!!

Joe was cold and he couldn't believe I was standing in shorts!!
(But you see that heater behind me?)

Still Sipping Hot Chocolate!!

Off with the Sweatshirts -- Now we are ready!!

This guy was with the Dive Team!! He is usually in the water,
but this year decided to stay warm and just observe!

Unfortunately there aren't any pictures of us actually in the water.
Joe tried to video tape it, but it was so bright, he couldn't see so this was the lone picture we got!
Tyler was way ahead of us already back to the tent.

The place where we were originally going to get in the water was too thick with ice, so we ended up running about 30 yards out to the lake.
The water was 32 degrees and I couldn't feel my feet on the run back!
We will be back next year!!
For those of you that are aware, I signed up to do this last year and couldn't because a horendous ice storm the morning of and I couldn't get out of our driveway! I raised over $600 last year so this year, I did it for only $70 of donations!
If you are proud of me for doing this in support of Special Olympics, give a donation to our adoption fund for Jacob's Adoption. I, in turn will match this amount next year when we do this again!! Maybe I can talk Joe into doing it with me!! Ya Think??
If you want to make a donation, please see our ChipIn on the side of our blog!!!
